JON V. HARPER, Shareholder

Jon V. Harper received his J.D. in 1979 from the Georgetown University Law Center.  He began his legal career as a litigation associate at the Salt Lake City firm of Parsons, Behle & Latimer.  From 1984 to 1992, he served as Associate Dean at the University of Utah College of Law, with responsibilities for student services and day-to-day administration of the law school.  Appointed as Adjunct Professor, he taught the subjects of Higher Education Law and Education Law in the Colleges of Law and Education, respectively, during his years at the University.  As an “AV” rated lawyer, Mr. Harper’s practice currently emphasizes business and complex civil litigation, including participation in national class action litigation involving breach of directors’ fiduciary duties (Stenovich v. Eccles), cost of insurance litigation (Garn v. Conseco Life Insurance Company), shareholder derivative litigation (Jaroslawicz v. Board of Directors of Union Pacific Corporation), consumer fraud and deceptive trade practices litigation and investor litigation against securities broker-dealers and registered investment advisors.
